We’re in Seattle this week, putting the finishing touches on Fall.  After being in New York and now here, I feel like I’ve hardly been home lately.  Whenever I travel frequently I remember how important it is to streamline my packing.  I always think I want more stuff with me, until I’m lugging it around the airport and then suddenly I’m a minimalist.  The key I’ve found to packing light is making sure that you curate your suitcase so that every piece in it can multitask.  If it can’t iron itself and get up and make me breakfast, it gets left out.  But seriously though, any item I include needs to earn its way into my bag.  Substitute pieces take much less space in your bag than an entire separate outfit, so streamline your basics and then change them up to change the look.  Items like a great pair of boyfriend jeans and a fabulous blouse are easy to take from day to night by simply swapping out your sandals for a pair of stilettos, throwing on a fun blazer and turning your cross body bag into a clutch by removing the strap.  More proof that its not really about what you wear, but how you wear it that decides the tone of an ensemble.

If you are anywhere near Pioneer Square you should eat at Zaina – they have amazing falafel sandwiches, used to eat them regularly when I worked across the street. Enjoy the beautiful weather we are having here in Western Washington.

Great post! One question about the jeans — did you fill the holes in with an extra layer of denim underneath, or did they come that way? Love the distressed look, but don’t want my skin all exposed in the leg/thigh region.

Amy, they came that way which is why I adore them. I’m the same way, not all about the exposed skin. ;-)

Or go to Lola to eat and get their donuts! Giada raved about them on a show once, and they were divine. Seattle is beautiful – have a fabulous week!

Love this outfit Cori and i couldn’t agree with you more regarding packing items that are versatile. WE just got back from a 2 week road trip and i did pretty good for packing. I only packed a couple of items that i didn’t wear, but I like to have variety. Love the polka dot blouse.

    Agi:)
