The pencil skirt hardly needs an introduction, but since I enjoy talking about clothes, I will mention that this particular staple is an absolute must-have for any girl’s closet. The pencil skirt will be in style for the rest of your life, and as long as it fits and is still in decent shape you need never worry about sending this piece to the goodwill. The thing that’s so fantastic about pencil skirts is that you can wear them so many different ways, casual or dressy it doesn’t really matter. And don’t save this piece only for office or Sunday wear. I love wearing a pencil skirt with a v-neck or a baseball tee for easy everyday style that still makes me feel chic and put-together. There are so many pencil skirt options out there. It’s wise to have quality, classic pieces (think navy or black– and I love deep green for versatility) that can be paired with anything for years to come (I like finding mine at J Crew). But it’s also fun to throw in a few bold pieces that give your wardrobe a little punch(ASOS and Anthropologie are great for this). And of course, we all love a good knit pencil skirt, because seriously, casual perfection. (Old Navy!)
and btw, a little bird told me that we are getting some pretty wicked new pencil skirts in the shop tomorrow. But shhh, it’s a secret.

I love pencil skirts! I thought for the longest time I couldn’t wear them because I wasn’t pencil thin but I actually like the way they accentuate the curves.
